Q: Which CPR and First Aid program do you teach ?

We teach American Heart Association CPR and First Aid. Our instructors are American Heart Association certified and aligned with St. Luke’s University Health Network, an authorized American Heart Association Training Center. We teach Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and BLS for Provider.

Q: What is the difference between Heartsaver CPR and BLS for Provider CPR?

Heartsaver CPR is designed for non-medical individuals and teaches fundamental single-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants, along with AED use, in a straightforward, easy to understand format. BLS for Providers is a more comprehensive course tailored to healthcare professionals, including nurses, EMTs, police and fire personnel, doctors, and medical office staff. It covers skills such as two-rescuer CPR, bag mask ventilation, and team based resuscitation commonly used in clinical and professional rescue settings. CPR training in the Lehigh Valley

Q: Do different CPR brands (AHA, ARC, ECSI, etc.) teach the same thing?

Many organizations offer different levels of CPR training, but they all draw on the same core resuscitation science, which is reviewed internationally and summarized in the American Heart Association’s CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Guidelines. These recommendations are then adapted into courses for various audiences. Organizations such as the American Red Cross (ARC), Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI), and Health and Safety Institute (HSI) each offer their own courses and branding, yet they base their content on the same underlying resuscitation science and current AHA guideline recommendations.

Q: Who should take a CPR or First Aid course?

Anyone in the general public who may need to respond to an emergency should consider obtaining CPR and First Aid training. This includes parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers, coaches, workplace safety teams, and healthcare professionals. Many employers, childcare centers, and licensing authorities require staff to hold documented CPR and First Aid certification. It is advisable to schedule renewal training before your certification expires to preserve your skills and ensure compliance with workplace or state regulations. approved Pennsylvania Professional Development (PD) Registry Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification Bethlehem, Easton, Lehigh Valley

Q: How long is a typical CPR and First Aid class?

A standard American Heart Association CPR class (excluding first aid) takes 3 to 4 hours, while the first aid course lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours. Duration may vary depending on class size and participants' skill levels.

Q: Why do some companies offer the same certification in only two hours?

A two-hour class can sound appealing, and some people take it just to get the completion card for a job requirement. However, the AHA sets minimum teaching durations so instructors can cover all required content and provide enough hands-on practice. When a “full” class is squeezed into only two hours, important material and practice time are often reduced or skipped. A very short class might satisfy a checkbox, but it doesn’t guarantee that someone will be able to respond effectively in a real emergency or truly improve someone's chances of survival.

Q: Can you provide training at our facility?

Yes, we can host any of our training classes at your location, eliminating the need to travel and tailoring the program to your environment. Best CPR training in the Lehigh Valley, Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton

Q: How many people can you train in one CPR or First Aid session?

Class sizes vary by course type and room capacity, but we typically recommend groups of 9 to 18 participants. This range ensures everyone has sufficient hands-on practice to develop the skills. For larger organizations, we can schedule multiple sessions to efficiently train all members.

Q: Who should take a Stop the Bleed class?

In today’s world, bleeding control is a vital skill for almost everyone to learn. It is especially important for parents, family members, and caregivers, as well as teachers and school staff, office staff, security teams, volunteers, event staff, and public safety personnel, who are more likely to be present during an emergency. Adding Stop the Bleed training to CPR and First Aid training strengthens overall emergency preparedness and helps people respond quickly and confidently to life‑threatening bleeding.

Q: Why learn Stop the Bleed if EMS will be responding?

A person with severe bleeding can lose their life in just 3-5 minutes, while the average EMS response time in the U.S. is closer to 8–10 minutes or longer, depending on where you live. Learning bleeding control skills prepares you to act within that window and slow or stop life threatening bleeding before professionals arrive.

Q: How long does a Stop the Bleed class take?

Our Stop the Bleed classes last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the class size and the amount of hands-on practice required for participants to become proficient. Stop the Bleed Training Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, PA
